A neighborhood dispute turned deadly in Costa Rica after a man opened fire on another guy… and the horrific moment was captured on video, which shows the murder.
In distressing surveillance footage from earlier this week that is circulating, two neighbors and their wives are seen arguing, yelling at each other from their neighboring homes in the town of Escazú. The disagreement moves to the front yard, where the two parties continue to exchange words.
As the discussion heats up, Otoniel Orozco Mendoza – the man who ended up being shot and later identified by local media – makes the fight physical… punching his neighbor, Eduardo Ramírez Zamora. Unfortunately, Zamora pulled out a gun in response.
Zamora ended up firing at least 9 shots at Mendoza… at close range, mind you.
Mendoza’s wife is seen screaming and running away as shots are fired, with Zamora’s wife pulling him back… trying to stop the disturbing scene. The two eventually escape.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, was fatal for Mendoza – who was pronounced dead at the scene after first aid arrived. According to La Nacion, the couples were arguing about the shared water valve.
Ramírez Zamora was arrested by authorities following the incident.
Mendoza, originally from Nicaragua, was a businessman who worked in private security. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and a son. He was 53 years old.
