Real Madrid decided to exercise their option and acquire Joselu on a transfer from Espanyol.
The 34-year-old forward arrived in the Spanish capital from the Catalans last summer on loan for an initial fee of €500,000, which included the option to make the deal permanent for around €1.5 million at the end of the season.
The European champions took advantage of a clause in Joselu’s contract with Espanyol, which was triggered after they were relegated from La Liga in 2022-23, and have until June 30 to activate the option to buy the talented striker.
