“She reached out to me,” Mackenzie told TooFab. “We exchanged numbers and I think it was because we both just in the near past – I never spoke to her or really met her – but I think it’s ‘the reason we both recently got a divorce.”
She continued: “And this is the place where we come together. We divorced someone who kind of ruined what people thought of us.”
While Makenzie’s marriage to Josh was fraught with infidelity and miscommunication on and off screen, it was Jenelle’s marriage to David that took the cake when it made headlines — with David taking photos of and killing her pet. , racist rhetoric spewed online, and most recently, abuse allegations against Jenelle’s oldest son, Jace.
“I take responsibility personally, but after I got divorced and came out the other side and realized how much better I have become, how much I love myself, I was rooting for her to do the same,” she added.

She continued: “I really think it will make a difference for anyone who wants to see this and see how she did. I hate to use these words, but I feel like it’s important for some people – women and men – to see her story because they identify with it.
Another relationship that could happen this season is that between Maci and her ex, Ryan Edwardswith whom he shares his 15-year-old son, Bentley.
Although fans have seen the pair get closer on screen, with Ryan recently celebrating Easter with Maci, Bentley and her husband, Taylor McKinney, much of what has happened over the years on the show has been Ryan’s struggle with substance abuse – a struggle which affected not only his bond with Bentley, but also his ability to co-parent Maci.

Leah has had her own challenges with twins Ali and Aleeah, including conditions involving Ali’s muscular dystrophy – which, according to National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke is “a group of rare genetic diseases that cause progressive muscle weakness and collapse.”
“I think because Ali and Aleeah are children, we are going through a whole new phase of accepting learning. Acceptance of who we are and how we play a role in everyone’s lives, including everyone in our family,” Leah shared. “So Ali and Aleeah have a very different struggle, but they’re like each other’s best friends.”
“They face adversities that seem totally different than your average twin,” the mother of three added. “Ali faces challenges every day and learns to accept that muscular dystrophy is part of who she is. And Aleeah feels the tension of needing to be there for her sister and take good care of her, so we’re navigating that as a teenager and we’ll see how that evolves.”
