Olivia Munn continues to be candid about her harrowing experience with breast cancer.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson ShowThe 43-year-old actress talks about the moment she received her life change Luminal B breast cancer diagnosis from a “guardian angel” doctor who she credits with saving her life. Munn said that after undergoing a risk assessment test during a routine appointment with her doctor for her annual Pap smear, she was encouraged to have an MRI followed by an ultrasound. From there, doctors discovered several cancerous nodules in her right breast.
Munn said her doctor gave her some love, saying, “I wanted you to come see me in the office because I wanted to look you in the eye and tell you that you’re too young to have this much cancer in your chest. And you. have a baby at homeand I need you to be aggressive because one of them is close to your lymph nodes and we need to act fast.”
The star was then advised to undergo a double mastectomy, which led to the discovery of more cancer in her left breast, including a “tangerine-sized section” of early-stage cancer.
Munn first revealed her shocking cancer diagnosis in March. In addition to the double mastectomy – which she had just 30 days after she was first diagnosed – she was also placed on clinically induced menopause. She has since had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy, procedures to surgically remove the uterus and ovaries.
Before that, Munn went through egg retrieval in hopes of having another child. She and partner John Mulaney They are already parents to a two-year-old son, Malcolm.
Munn Appeared in Good Morning America last weekopening up about her desire to give Malcolm a brother.
“Right after the mastectomy, I went through a round of egg retrieval and it’s a scary process because I have a cancer that feeds on hormones, so I knew there was a risk,” she recalled in an interview with Michael Strahan. “Our doctor said, ‘Look, we’ll get you one and then we’ll call you.’ And then our doctor called and said, ‘Hey, we got the results. These are two healthy embryos.’ And I, I mean, started crying.
She added: “We really hope it works out so we can have another baby. We just want one more. I won’t ask for much more in this life, I promise. I just want one more baby.”

“I’m so excited to meet whoever and bring a little person into this world,” Munn said at the time.
