Meghan Markle was in Toronto before Prince Harry won her over.
When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their relationship in 2016, Markle was living in a $1.4 million home in Canada’s most populous city while filming “Fits” for several seasons.
The property — which Markle, 43, has reportedly rented for two years with her dog, Bogart and Man, from fashion designer Elizabeth Cabral — has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen with a breakfast nook that leads to a private backyard, ideal for entertaining and relaxing.
The newly renovated home features a Tiffany & Co.-colored front door, wide-plank hardwood floors, an updated basement, and a two-car storage area with a Tesla charger.
In a 2022 interview with The Lower, Markle referred to her home as “calm and therapeutic” and stated that it made her “happy.”
According to an inventory of the home, it is located near two subway stations, five supermarkets, great schools, an ice skating rink, parks and a community center.
Harry, 40, would travel from London to visit the Fits alum’s home in the heart of Seaton Village twice a month during the early stages of their relationship.
“Meg was excited to show me her life, her dog, her little house, which she loved,” the royal wrote in her bombshell memoir, “Spare.”
In 2017, Markle moved to the UK to be with the founder of Invictus Games and the two married the following year.
The 12 months after the mother of two moved across the pond, the owners of the Toronto home purchased it for $1.6 million. Most recently, the Toronto residence was purchased for nearly $1.9 million in August.
The Sussexes remained in the UK until January 2020, after announcing they were leaving the royal family and moving to North America.
Harry and Markle now reside in a gorgeous $14 million Tuscan-style mansion in Montecito, California, with their two children: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
The couple’s 18,000-square-foot home features 9 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a pool, a tennis court, a two-bedroom guest house, a rose garden and a children’s playhouse.
