The legal divorce battle between Wow It is Jeannie May The situation is getting more complicated as the rapper has filed new court documents to clarify his request regarding custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Monaco.
In court documents filed April 16 in Fulton County, Georgia, obtained by ET on Thursday, Jeezy — whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins — is seeking to “share joint legal custody and joint physical custody of the minor child and that the specific parenting time schedule will be determined by the Court in accordance with the best interests of the minor child.”
He claims that he and Jeannie had reached an informal custody agreement last year, but that it fell through in early 2024. The motion also alleges that Jeezy “actually did not have any meaningful parenting of the minor child throughout the year” and that Jeannie has avoided FaceTime calls by blocking his number.
In previous documents previously obtained by ET last week, Jeezy sought primary custody of Monaco. claiming it would give him more “stability”. He claimed that Jeannie’s busy schedule and “excessive” traveling had “severely affected” his daughter’s well-being.
“(Jeezy) and the parties’ minor child enjoyed a strong parental bond before (he) moved out of the marital residence, and it is important that the minor child maintain the bond with both parents,” the documents state.
The rapper – who asked for divorce from the old The real co-host last September after two years of marriage — further alleged in her lawsuit that Jeannie “uses her brother and mother as caregivers for the parties’ minor child whenever (she) is unable to personally care for the parties’ minor child.” Jeezy alleged that his ex neglected their agreed parenting time, even vacating their California home “without notice” so that Jeezy would not be able to pick up their daughter on April 2, 2024.
“At this time, (Jeezy) does not know where (Jeannie) lives with the parties’ minor child,” the documents alleged.
Additionally, when he finally got to “do some parenting time” on April 8-9, 2024, Jeezy claimed that Monaco “was lethargic, looked exhausted, and appeared to be underweight.”
In court documents filed in DecemberJeannie expressed her own safety concerns regarding Monaco’s care, regarding Jeezy’s possession of firearms, which she claimed has been “unsafe in the past.”
Jeezy also addressed these allegations in his lawsuit, insisting that he “always made sure his firearms were secured and away from the parties’ minor child” and accusing Jeannie of “staging” a photo of Monaco next to a bag he kept one of his firearms when leaving home.
Jeezy also pointed out that he has a Second Amendment right to own a firearm, and furthermore, he is licensed to own one, despite it not being required in the state of Georgia. “(Jeezy) further shows the Court that there was not a single incident involving his firearms and the parties’ minor child,” the documents state.
