It’s fair to say Bambi has always been one of the darkest and most horrific children’s films. But it wasn’t a horror film – until now.
The same producers behind the viral Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey franchise have now set their sites on another children’s favorite and produced Bambi: the reckoning.
The first trailer for the film is below. This doesn’t set up Bambi as a monstrous killing machine hell-bent on revenge on the people who killed his mother…but I can’t imagine it is. no the premise of the film in some way.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
We follow Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who are involved in a car accident and are soon hunted by the cruel killing machine Bambi. Bambi will destroy anyone in his path! Oh dear, we’re not done yet!
While the first Blood and Honey I got terrible reviews (and a 2023 Razzie Award for Worst Picture), it also made money. And believe it or not, the sequel received better reviews when it recently debuted. If these “twisted children’s universe” movies keep doing well, there will be a lot more of them.
In truth, Bambi: the reckoning should be part of the “Pooniverse”From horror films based on popular children’s films. In addition to Blood and Honey 2 It is 3they are also developing Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare It is Pinocchio without a rope. They then hope to do something called Poohniverse: monster assembly where all these films will intersect. (This film will reportedly feature Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, The Mad Hatter, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. What… no Cinderella?)
