Rebel Wilson has a personal message she would like to convey.
No, it’s not that Sacha Baron Cohen is an A-Hole, although Wilson recently made it clear that she believes this about the actor.
Instead, while speaking to People Magazine to promote her upcoming memoir, Wilson publicly admitted the age at which she first had sex.
To be frank, according to the statistics that exist, he is much older than the age at which he majority people first have sex.
Wilson told this publication that she was 35 when she lost her virginity.
Why go ahead with such a rumor at this point?
“People can wait until they’re ready or wait until they’re a little more mature,” explained Wilson, who hopes to serve as a role model in this regard.
“And I think that can be a positive message.
“Obviously, you don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like I did, but you shouldn’t feel pressure when you’re young.”
Wilson — best known for comedic roles in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids — recalled to People how she used to avoid this topic when she was a teenager because she felt “embarrassed.”
She even lied about it to people close to her.
“There was a vague moment, I think I said to my best friend, ‘Oh yeah, I only did this to get it over with when I was 23,’” says Wilson.
“Just to really avoid the questions.”
Other times, Wilson would get up and leave the room if the topic was raised. She feared looking like “the biggest loser” if the truth about this milestone was revealed.
But now she’s comfortable enough to put it out there… to be proud of it… and hopefully let others know that whatever pace one wants to go is perfectly fine when it comes to sexual relations.
She’s also glad she waited so long because it helped her realize that She is attracted to women.
“It’s absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would have explored my sexuality more. I just knew I was attracted to men and that was normal,” Wilson recalls.
Wilson is now engaged and welcomed a son via surrogate in November 2022.
“When I started opening up, probably more so after my father died and I realized, oh, even though I thought marriage was a terrible thing and a waste of time, I started opening up to it,” she tells People.
“And it wasn’t until years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think is a sign of where society was at.”
Wilson’s memoir, Rebel Rising, will be available for purchase on April 2.
