Beyonce he picked up Dolly PartonBegging a woman to stay away from her man and change everything – going on the offensive… and invoking the notorious “Becky” is the most famous scam.
It was one of the many surprises on Bey’s new album, “Cowboy Carter” – with her track “Jolene” not necessarily being a pure cover of DP’s iconic song… but more so a remix, where she drastically changed the lyrics and changed o focus on who the song is really about.
While Dolly’s version is literally begging a woman named Jolene – who is portrayed as a beauty who is seducing Dolly’s fictional husband – Bey did the opposite… and fired warning shots at this “Jolene” and told her to get away from her own husband.
Beyoncé sings… “You are beautiful, incomparable // It takes more than beauty and seductive looks // To stand between a family and a happy man // Jolene, I am a woman too // The games you play are nothing new // So you don’t want any fights with me, Jolene.”
If it seems like Beyoncé is chasing a certain lady here – well, you’re correct… something Dolly herself alludes to in an interlude that comes before the song… where she notes that Beyoncé’s fury is directed at a woman fictional girl named Becky, à la “Lemonade”.
Remember… Beyoncé devoted much of that album to the notion that another woman was trying to come between her and Jay-Z …and this blurred the line between fake and real.
This was probably the biggest surprise on the album… but there were many others too.
His collaborations with Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus It is Post Malone were all highly praised – and the album overall is getting a lot of love, especially for its unique take on country.

There’s another rumor that people are picking up on from the album – namely the fact that Bey seems out of shape due to the fact that she didn’t win the coveted Grammy for Album of the Year… something that Jay himself recently highlightedand what she also does in ‘CC’.
She sings these lyrics in “SWEET HONEY BUCKIIN”… “AOTY, I didn’t win (c’mon) / I didn’t get stung by them / Take that shit on the chin / Come back and fuck *put your pen up.”
Obviously, she’s going to keep walking and producing music… and not let the Grammy criticism bother her, even though it’s clearly been on her mind since she referenced it here. Considering how beloved this new album appears to be, you have to wonder if it will win.
Big day in music, and big day on the country scene… Beyoncé is out here rocking it!
