tiger woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, got together to celebrate their son, Charlie’s state championship, and things seemed a little awkward.
Tiger and Elin joined their 15-year-old son on Tuesday to celebrate his and his teammates’ victory in the Class 1 A state golf championship. Charlie and his teammates at Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida , were presented with some important equipment – a shiny medal and the coveted state championship ring.
Tiger, a 15-time golf champion, beamed with pride as he posed for a photo with his phenomenal son. Another photo shows Tiger on the side as Elin smiles for photos with her son, whose team won the school’s fourth state title in November.
Tiger and the former Swedish model, who married in 2004, share Charlie and 16-year-old daughter Sam. The former couple divorced in 2009 following Tiger’s cheating scandal, which gained prominence on HBO in 2021 in the two-part documentary series, Tiger.
In recent years, Tiger and Charlie have been seemingly inseparable. Charlie is usually accompanied by his future Hall of Famer father. They also competed together at the PNC Championship, formerly known as the Father/Son Challenge, and they often wear matching outfits.
What’s more, Charlie has acquired almost exactly the same mannerisms on the golf course as his father – from the way he leans on the golf club to the way he takes off his glove.
While it was Elin who caddied for Charlie at the state championships last winter, Tiger is also no stranger to serving as Charlie’s caddy at his junior tournaments. But is he a good caddy? Charlie sneered when Golf Week I asked him about it.
“For Dad as a caddy, his readings are biased, and I don’t hook as much as he does,” Charlie joked. “So all my shots, I missed. So I have to take that into account.”
Tiger enjoyed the PNC Championship last year with Charlie and Sam, who was his famous father’s caddy.
“Sam was fantastic,” said the legendary golfer Golf Week last December. “This is her first time doing this, so it couldn’t have been more special for all of us. For me, having my two children inside the ropes like this and participating, playing and being part of the game of golf like this couldn’t have been more special for me, and I know we do this a lot at home, we sharpen ourselves and we have a lot of fun, but it was more special to do it in a tournament like this. “
