In early summer 2023, news emerged of The separation of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky.
After 27 years, it was an impressive development – except, perhaps, for Allison DuBois.
There have been a lot of developments since then, so let’s dive in and discuss whether Kyle and Mauricio are still married.
Mauricio is opening up about the status of his relationship with Kyle
During a Netflix preview Buying Beverly Hillswhich you can see below, Mauricio Umansky talks to his daughters Alexia, Sophia and Farrah (Farrah being his stepdaughter).
“I had 26 incredible years with your mother, 26 incredible years,” he told the girls. “I wanted to do everything I could to just save him.”
Mauricio recalled: “So, you know, your mother came and talked to me and said, ‘I think I need space.’”
Remarkably, Mauricio’s report matches last fall’s report that Kyle was looking for space after more than a quarter of a century of marriage.
“She told me, ‘Listen, the rules are that, you know, you go out, date, do whatever you want,’” Mauricio detailed.
He described Kyle as telling him: “’I’m not going to ask what you’re doing. I don’t want you to ask me what I’m doing. Like, we’re separated.’”

In February, Kyle Richards joined Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager at Today Show. Today It is The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills they are both part of the NBCUniversal family, so the interview was a natural choice.
“I think there were certain things we had been putting aside for a long time,” she described. Kyle explained how motherhood stops many people from re-examining their relationships.
“You know, you’re pregnant and breastfeeding. And then it was working and juggling the kids and you kind of forget, and then it resurfaces again,” Kyle described.
“And I think I reached a, I would say, breaking point, honestly,” Kyle explained.
This happens in many relationships, although there are ways to avoid it. Talking to your partner in the appropriate way can really help.
“And I’ve been through a lot,” she emphasized. “I lost my best friend and I think that really changes you and makes you see things differently.” Kyle is referring to the tragic suicide death of Lorene Shea in 2022.
Kyle re-evaluated what she would ‘accept and not accept’ in her marriage
“It’s not like there was anything big (that caused the split),” Kyle explained of their split.
“We love each other very much and have a lot of respect for each other,” she emphasized.
“So,” Kyle expressed, “that makes it even harder to make a decision like that.”
Kyle confirmed that she and Mauricio still “live under the same roof in different rooms.”
There are happy couples who have a similar sleeping arrangement… but it can also be the setting for a peaceful separation.
However, Kyle and Mauricio are not divorced and, for now, remain married.
Is Kyle Richards Dating Anyone?
On the Wednesday, March 27, episode of Sirius XM’s Let’s talk off-camera with Kelly Ripa, Kyle Richards admitted that she doesn’t feel ready to date. After all, she’s been out of the dating pool for over a quarter of a century.
Kyle also talked about an influx of “interested men and women messaging me now.”
It’s unclear whether women are feeling hopeful because of Kyle’s close friendship with friend Morgan Wade, or if they’re just shooting because Kyle is incredibly hot. After all, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
