Kenan Thompson took a moment to share his thoughts on the ‘Quiet On Set’ docuseries. During a meeting with Tamron Salonthe Emmy winner explained that the project’s revelations were “difficult to watch.”
“It’s difficult, it’s a difficult subject. It’s hard for me because I can’t talk about things I never witnessed, because all these things happened after I left, basically,” Kenan Thompson told Tamron.

Thompson also clarified his closeness with Dan Schneider during his time at Nickelodeon. The comedian said that Dan wasn’t actually involved with ‘Kenan & Kel’ despite his creator credit. He added that his claim to fame show on Nickelodeon had a different showrunner.
“Our worlds weren’t necessarily overlapping outside of that. And then all that negativity started happening outside of our tenure there. So I wasn’t really aware of all that.
But my heart goes out to anyone who has been a victim or to their families… I think it’s a good thing that the doctor has come out and is airing things that need to be exposed, stories that need to be told for the sake of accountability. But it’s definitely hard to watch because I have such fond memories of that place, of my castmates, so hearing that they went through terrible things like that is really hard.”
On ‘Quiet On Set,’ Drake Bell revealed that speech coach Brian Peck repeatedly sexually assaulted him, starting in the early 2000s. Bell described feeling “trapped” and “with no way out.”
“The abuse was extensive and became quite brutal,” Drake Bell revealed.
After ‘Quiet on Set’ aired, Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider released a video statement about his past behaviors. He denied being responsible for hiring Peck and said he helped Drake’s mother write a speech to read during the trial against Brian Peck.
“When Drake and I talked and he told me what had happened, I was more devastated by this than anything that had ever happened in my career so far, and I told him, ‘I’m here to help you, what do you think? need,’” Schneider explained.

Amanda Bynes is in the same boat as Kenan
Nearby sources Amanda Bynes also recently shared similar sentiments about his experience at Nickelodeon. The ‘Amanda Show’ star reportedly turned down a request to appear on ‘Quiet on Set,’ saying hers didn’t compare to those on display in the docu-series. She “didn’t have a bad experience” while working at Nickelodeon, source says TMZ.

As for Kenan, last month he opened up about how much money he lost after leaving Nickelodeon in the late ’90s and early ’00s. He blamed his “bad accountant” at the time for losing nearly $1.5 million of his money. .
These days, however, Kenan has better business partnerships, including with John Ryan Jr. The artists co-founded Artists For Artists in 2021, which Deadline described as a “full-service artist incubator for creation, production, commerce and content management.”
“Artists often do not have any ownership in the process of the projects they create. It will be a legendary project that will last 40, 50 years and they won’t be able to capitalize beyond the original acting test, which isn’t fair in my opinion. Because some things become merchandise, they will become socks,” she said. “Artists should have some kind of peace in this.”
