Brittany snow is opening up about her divorce. The 38-year-old actress appeared on the latest episode of Call her daddyand spoke openly about his separation from Tyler Stanaland after infidelity rumors spun following its time Selling the OC.
In the Netflix series, Stanaland made headlines for your seductive behavior with co-stars Alex Salão It is Kayla Cardonawhich started to look different after he and Snow broke upand she eventually asked for divorce. Their divorce has been finished in July 2023.
“They took up a lot of energy, emotion, time and space in my head. I don’t want to give them any more time and energy, because then they would win and get what they wanted, which was to get my time, energy and attention,” Snow said of the Selling the OC cast. “I wasn’t aware of a lot of things.”
“I will say, what people think happened, happened,” she continued. “I think there’s also in my experience with this and how I’ve processed it, there’s a lot of grace that I give myself… There’s a part of this that I don’t have a hand in. I’ve tried so hard to see everything from all sides and release this anger, because it doesn’t serve me.”
She further noted, “Yes, what happened, happened. What is mentioned in the press is true.”
Before Snow sat down to watch the show with her dog, she “didn’t see any” signs of trouble, which she called “the saddest part of it all.”
“I didn’t know what was going on… I think I was completely shocked that I didn’t have control of reality like that,” she said. “…I was like, ‘What?!’ Trusting yourself after that and saying, ‘I have a good sense of character.’ I had instincts, and I think because I was in love, I didn’t trust them.”
As for why she didn’t talk in depth sooner, Snow explained, “I wouldn’t play that game. I don’t have the anger that I think people wanted me to have… I just don’t even want to go there.”
Even with everything that happened, Snow said he doesn’t “regret anything that happened because I loved that time we had when we had it.”
“There was love there. There was a wedding there. There was a lot of love,” she said. “I think that gray is hard to understand, because it’s so much more salacious and interesting when it’s like, ‘He did it. She did it.’”
In fact, she said that in some ways she is “grateful” for the situation, because “it was a neon sign” to get out of the relationship. “I never had to worry about whether (I made the right choice),” she explained.
When it comes to what she would say to people going through a similar situation, Snow said, “It hurts, but it comes and goes.” She also advised that people “really start to notice and see (your exes) as real people and not this idealized version of what you thought or constructed.”
Her romantic life today is largely on hold, as Snow explained: “I’ve been actively trying to be alone and with myself and just feel the feelings and not have to wear a Band-Aid… I’ve been on and off a little bit of things.” , but nothing concrete.”
