Ariana Madix is spreading her reality TV wings even further – now jumping to “Love Island USA” to take on hosting duties…that’s how Sarah Hyland leaves the franchise.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ… the “Vanderpump Rules” star is set to become the new host of “Love Island USA” next season – meaning she will replace Sarah… who is on the bench. driver during the last two seasons (Seasons 4 and 5).
We’re told a news announcement is coming… although we’re told the cameras haven’t started rolling yet. Our sources also say the deal isn’t officially done yet – but barring any major issues… we’re told it’s expected to be signed, sealed and delivered.
In terms of why this is happening – our sources tell us that Sarah is leaving because she took advantage of another opportunity she wanted to pursue… and happened to be filming during the same time period that she would be needed for ‘LIUSA.’
While it remains to be seen whether Sarah will return as host in the future, we have been told that there is no indication at this time that she will return.
A bummer for SH fans, no doubt, but this is a dream come true for Ariana – who is known as a devoted fan of the reality show… and who even made a special appearance on ‘Love Island’ last season.
Of course, this is also just the latest show Ariana has booked as she continues her post-Scandoval wave of success. Remember, she got it hired for a period on “Dancing with the Stars”, and was also recently doing “Chicago” on Broadway. Now, she’s on a new reality show.
Before Sarah came on board to host ‘Love Island USA’… the host was Arielle Vandenberg, who was the face of the franchise for three entire seasons. However, as part of a major rebrand, in terms of the show’s formatting… they pivoted and hired Sarah.
‘Love Island USA’ also moved from airing on CBS to Peacock, its current home.
Waiting for your permission to upload Instagram media.
Now, they have a new host for now… and we’re sure fans will be thrilled. We’ve reached out to Ariana and Sarah’s reps – so far, no response.
