Look what you made him do. Jack Antonoff hung up on a Dutch news agency after they asked him if he was collaborating on Taylor Swiftnext album, Department of Tortured Poets.
The famous music producer was on the phone with a reporter from NRC, a morning newspaper published in the Netherlands, when he was asked about his involvement in Swift’s upcoming 11th studio album. The 39-year-old wasn’t exactly thrilled with the question.
“You know I don’t talk about it,” he told the outlet. “If you’re looking for clickbait, you’ve come to the wrong place. Thank you for this conversation.”
The NRC reported in its story that Antonoff then hung up on the reporter.
It’s safe to say that Antonoff will always support Swift. In February, he came to his defense in an interview with Los Angeles Timesresisting allegations that she doesn’t write her own songs.
Questioning Swift’s songwriting knowledge, Antonoff said, “It’s like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.”
Antonoff – who first teamed up with Swift for her 2014 album, 1989 – also admitted at the time: “Sometimes I’m a bit of an idiot. But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”
Fast announced her new album by receiving her 13th GRAMMY Award in February for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnight.
“OK, this is my 13th GRAMMY, which is my lucky number. I don’t know if I’ve already told you that,” Swift joked. “I want to thank the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.”
Since that announcement, Swift has also shared the tracklist, revealing that the album will include 17 tracks and features from Post Malone and Florence + the Machine. When Department of Tortured Poets will be released on April 19, it will be the seventh album that Antonoff and Swift have worked on together.
