Dan Dakich is offering some free advice to any players of this weekend’s Candy 16 looking for recommendations on how to prepare for the big games… simply saying, “Don’t start thinking you’re a star!”
Former Indiana Hoosiers guard mentioned in a chat with TMZ Sports Activities this week it’s easy for players who have made it this far in the NCAA Tournament to start to lose focus.
He mentioned how groups return to campus and feel all the love – it’s common for players to get a big head… and then falter when the lights come back on for the next round of the tournament.
“Now all of a sudden, man, the campus is completely different,” he informed us. “The campus is alive – and they are alive because of you! And you’ve acquired the ability to deal with that dangerous boy, and that’s not easy.
Dakich’s warned coaches hold several meetings a day – he actually referred to it as “three a day” – with the aim of emphasizing to players that they must remember what it took to get them to the top. where they are at the moment.
“I’m telling you,” he said, “it’s a big deal.”

As for who Dakich is, the host of Outkick’s I am notlikes going to the next round – he said it’s clear that Purdue and UConn are the favorites.
However, he informed us that we did not sleep at Creighton, San Diego State, or NC State.
The Round of 16 officially begins on Thursday… when Clemson faces Arizona in Los Angeles.
