Yankees outfielder Oscar González is currently resting in a hospital – this after he broke his eye socket in a scary moment during an exhibition game on Monday night.
Gonzalez was at the plate in the middle of NY’s contest against the Diablos Rojos del Mexico in Mexico City when he was thrown in – and the foul dropped the ball right in his face.

Video from the game broadcast shows the 26-year-old immediately collapsing in pain… as coaches rushed to the sphere to get closer to him.
He was eventually taken off the diamond in a golf cart — and transported to a nearby hospital, where Yankees officials say he was identified with a proper orbital fracture.
Gonzalez remained at the medical center for a single day and is expected to undergo additional tests on Tuesday.
Gonzalez just joined the Yankees this offseason after showing some promise during his first two seasons in Cleveland.
He was performing well in spring training before suffering the frightening injuries – recording a .333 batting average, one home run and 6 RBIs in 16 games. He was, however, expected to start the season in the minor leagues.
