Kate Middleton is receiving more support from members of the royal family following her cancer diagnosis.
On Monday, Sarah Ferguson — who had two cancer diagnoses last year – released a statement in support of the Princess of Wales amid her latest health announcement.
“All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she begins her treatment,” the Duchess of York’s Instagram post read. “I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome. As someone who has faced her own battles with cancer in recent months, I am filled with admiration for the way she has spoken about herself publicly. diagnosis and I know it will be great to raise awareness. I hope she now has time, space and privacy to heal. ”
In January, a rep for Sarah told ET that she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and a series of moles were removed from her body when she underwent reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy.
At the time, Sarah’s rep said she found the news “distressing” as it came shortly after her breast cancer diagnosis.
“She is undergoing further investigations to ensure this was detected at an early stage. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after breast cancer treatment was distressing, but the Duchess remains in good spirits,” the representative said in a statement.
The skin cancer news came six months after Sarah’s rep confirmed to ET that she underwent surgery for breast cancerafter it was detected in the early stages following a routine mammogram.
On Friday, Kate made the shocking revelation that tests after your abdominal surgery in January it showed that she had cancer. In her video statement, the mother of three said: “My medical team therefore advised that I should take a course of preventive chemotherapy and now I’m in the early stages of this treatment.”
Since sharing the news, Kate has also gained public support from well-wishers, other public cancer survivors and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In a statement to ET, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said, “We wish Kate and her family health and healing and hope they can do so privately and in peace.”
ET has also learned that the pair reached out to the princess privately, though it’s unclear in what capacity.
