Brian TyreeHenry agree with fans who think Aaron Taylor-Johnson he would be the perfect James Bond.
Talking to ET’s Denny Directo since the premiere of his new film, Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empirethe 41-year-old movie star said that when it comes to rumors that your Bullet train co-star will soon transform into 007he couldn’t be more on board.
“Everything about this is perfect,” said the Sidewalk actor told ET. “He’s absolutely stealthy, he looks incredible, he’s a great actor.”
With a wink at the camera, Henry added: “I hope I can be a Bond villain.”
In the 2022 film, the American actor and the English star, 33, played chaotic yet lovable work partners Lemon and Tangerine, the briefcase-possessing duo that Brad Pitt’s character was after. Their hilarious banter became a highlight of the film, with some even calling for Henry and Taylor-Johnson to get your own spinoff film or series.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Taylor-Johnson – who will next appear in The fallen guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt – accepted the role of 007. It was first reported by The sun in mid-March that EON – the production company behind the franchise – offered the Avengers: Age of Ultron star in the role and we were just waiting for his response.
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he choose to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting for a response,” a source told the channel. “As far as EON is concerned, Aaron will be signing his contract in the next few days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
Furthermore, in an interview with Rolling Stone UK released on March 20, Taylor-Johnson was asked if there is any truth to the speculation about her casting. He would have remained silent and changed the subject.
“I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell,” he shared. “Then The fallen guy, Nosferatus, Kraven the Hunter. I’m here to promote them.”
While Taylor-Johnson continues to promote her own upcoming films (and seemingly dodges 007’s questions like Bond dodges bullets), Henry also keeps his focus on promoting Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire.
In the new installment, the Atlanta alum reprises his role as Bernie Hayes from the 2021 film, Godzilla vs Kong. He described working on another installment in the beloved universe as an evolution of the original film and “punk rock.”
“This one was much more punk rock. You know (director) Adam Wingard, an incredible leader, came in with the vision that we were just going to expand it. It felt like more of an upgrade for both of them,” he said. of both titular monsters. “As you can see, Godzilla has pink spikes, King has fists. We screamed ‘Oh my God’ 170 times. So it felt more punk rock. It felt like a KISS concert.”
