Love is blind season 6 contestant Matthew Duliba is opening now that the show has finished airing. Matthew, whose relationship with contestant AD was discussed during the reunion, chose not to attend the Netflix show’s reunion special.
During a Q&A with fans over the weekend on his Instagram, Matthew explained his decision to not attend and shared that he has a new girlfriend in his life.
When a fan asked why he chose not to attend the show’s reunion special, he responded, “I’m not going back to a situation where they keep editing.”
Another fan asked if Matthew didn’t understand the risk of appearing on reality shows.
“I didn’t think they could cut and paste sentences, if I had known that I wouldn’t have done it,” said Matthew.
Matthew had already spoken out on social media, condemning the edit he received, which showed him leaving dates in the middle of contestant Sarah Ann’s conversation.
Sarah Ann, who ended up dating contestant Jeramey Lutinski, previously confirmed Matthew’s claim that the program was edited to make it appear as if he left mid-date.
When a fan asked if Matthew thought he did something wrong with his two pod connections, AD and Amber, he simply replied, “Nah.”
AD shared during the reunion special that after her fiancé, Clay Gravesande, said “no” at the altar, she went on several dates with Matthew, including one where he made her “rice and chicken” at his house.
Matthew apparently made a reference to that date when another fan asked why things didn’t work out between him and AD or Amber.
“They’re too much chicken and rice for me,” he replied.
As for the situation of his current love life, Matthew took the opportunity to introduce his girlfriend to his followers.
When a commenter asked if he likes Spanish or Latin women, he replied: “Funny you should ask, this is Vanesa, my girlfriend. This photo was taken on the same day as the meeting. We went to the Charlotte FC soccer game with friends. ”
During the reunion, Amber opened up about her brief post-show romance with Matthew, explaining to co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey why things didn’t work out between them.
“We live two completely different lifestyles. He’s very disciplined. Not that I’m not, but he’s extremely watchful of the clock, every minute is kind of planned while I’m a little bit in the wind,” AD said at the time.
During their reunion, Clay expressed regret about saying “no” at the altar with AD, sharing that he hoped to rekindle their relationship.
When speaking to ET after the reunion, AD described herself as single and said she didn’t see a future with her ex.
All six seasons of Love is blind are currently streaming on Netflix.
