King Charles IIIJohn’s nephew Peter Phillips is giving an insight into how the longest-serving member of the British monarchy is faring amid cancer treatment.
In a new interview with Sky News Australia46 year old son Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, said the UK’s 75-year-old reigning monarch is upset about the timeline of her recovery but “pragmatic” about the medical advice she has received.
“He’s in good spirits,” Phillips told the Australian channel. “I think at the end of the day, he’s extremely frustrated. He’s frustrated that he can’t do everything he wants to do.”
Buckingham Palace announced in February that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer following a procedure he undergoing prostate enlargement. The palace has not disclosed what type of cancer Charles is battling or when he is expected to resume typical royal duties. Since his diagnosis, he has been receiving treatment and recovering at Sandringham Estate.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their quick intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure,” Buckingham Palace shared in a statement in February. “He remains completely positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to public service as soon as possible.”

Phillips said the King is eager to get back to work and has therefore been putting pressure on himself and those around him to accelerate his progress.
“He’s always pushing his team, everyone, his doctors and nurses, to be able to say, ‘Actually, come on, can I do this? Can I do that?’”, the king’s nephew told the Australian channel. “But he is very pragmatic (and) understands that there is a period of time where he really needs to focus on himself.”
In the midst of treatment, Charles’ wife, Queen Camillaand his eldest son, Prince William, both took additional responsibilities and royal duties.

“He’s fine,” said Eugenie, 34.
The timeline for Charles’ return is unclear and ET recently learned that he will be enjoying it reduced Easter festivities at Sandringham with William, Kate and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
