WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT SEASON 3
Rumors have persisted for some time that Euphoria Season 3 will not directly follow on from the chaotic and dramatic Season 2 (in a literal, on-stage way) Final — instead taking a huge leap forward in the timeline. (This would also help explain why cast members can look different after three or four years between productions.)
“I think it will be exciting to explore the characters outside of high school,” Zendaya suggested in an August 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I want to see what Rue is like on her sobriety journey, how chaotic it can seem. But also with all the characters, in the sense that they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school ends and what kind of people they want to be.”
In an April 2023 interview with Vogue, Euphoria Costume designer Heidi Bivens also suggested that season three could feature a time jump – although noted at the time that she hadn’t yet read any scripts.
“I will do everything I can to make the third season of the series a success. I am very excited to read the scripts. There is talk that it will be approximately five years in the future and that they are not in high school anymore. Dorothy is not in high school anymore. Kansas. I mean, it could be a total trip. Who can say? Blevins shared. “But knowing Sam’s brain, it will be exciting, and he will challenge all of us, because he won’t want to repeat himself. It will be something new for the audience to discover .”
And, in truly cryptic fashion, Levinson called Season 3 “film noir” in an August 2021 interview with Shenoting that Rue will explore “what it means to be a principled individual in a corrupt world.”
WHEN WILL SEASON 3 PREMIERE?
While most things about the next season remain unclear — or just a secret from Levinson — HBO chief Casey Bloys said in November 2023 that the network hoped to debut in 2025. According to Deadlinein reports, that remains the goal.
