Nicole and Mahmoud’s first night together in America definitely didn’t go how Nicole planned. On Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?Mahmoud arrived in Los Angeles to give marriage another chance after Nicole failed to adapt to living in Egyptbut he wasn’t happy or excited to say the least.
Nicole and Mahmoud went through serious problems during the season 90 Day Fiance: The Other Side when she tried to live in Egypt due to Nicole not being able to adapt to conservative culture and Mahmoud strict faith of Islam. Nicole, 40, returned to Los Angeles and Mahmoud, 31, agreed to come to America even though he didn’t want to. On Sunday’s episode, an excited Nicole met him at the airport with a sign for him. Although Mahmoud smiled and told her he loved her, he did not want to kiss her on the mouth, although she tried repeatedly. He admitted to producers that Nicole’s behavior made him uncomfortable. He also didn’t like that her dress showed her belly.
“She lives like this, I know, but as a Muslim, I don’t feel right doing that around people,” he said of her PDA.
Mahmoud suffered immediate culture shock when it came to using pedestrian crossings and having to wear a seatbelt. Although he thought downtown Los Angeles was “cool” as they passed by, he commented that Egypt was “still the best” and he missed people constantly walking around. Nicole told cameras that she wished their reunion was “happier,” but blamed his tiredness from the flight. Mahmoud’s bad mood continued when he entered her apartment. He didn’t like the painting of a naked lady and the naked outdoor mannequin she used to make clothes.
“So strange,” he murmured.
When Mahmoud told her he was tired, she said he must have slept on the plane. She expressed her disappointment with his mood.
“You know what, it annoys me that you didn’t sleep on the plane, actually, it really annoys me – like, it really annoys me,” she told him.
She told the cameras that Mahmoud could now understand how she felt when she moved to Egypt.
“Mahmoud is now in America and I hope he can do his best because there is no way for me to return to Egypt,” she said.
