Evidence from the YouTube star and Jodi Hildebrandt’s cases has been released, showing police interviews with the two attackers and Franke’s ex-husband Kevin, as well as footage of the two children abused after they were discovered by authorities.
A mountain of evidence was presented to the public on Friday in the baby abuse case against Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt, who were sentenced to up to 60 years in prison earlier this year in Utah.
Both girls were arrested last August on child abuse charges related to Franke’s children, as new footage shows the second of them allegedly climbed through a window of Hildebrandt’s Ivins home and fled to a neighbor’s house for help.
Other films include the police raid on Hildebrandt’s house, them coaxing one of the children out of a closet, the arrests and police interrogations of Franke and Hildebrandt, as well as an interview with Ruby’s ex-husband Kevin, who was not charged. in case. Ruby’s diary entries was also releasedin which she said that one of her sons was “out of possession” and “needs God,” and wrote about how she punished them by making them stand in the sun and shaving their hair.
Warning: Some of the films below are disturbing.
In one video, one of Franke’s children is seen ringing the doorbell and knocking on a neighbor’s door, with duct tape around each of their ankles. Before leaving the house, a couple came out and called the police after giving the boy food and water.
Police medics noticed the boy had tape and plastic wounds on his legs and arms, which were also covered with cayenne pepper and honey.
Once police arrived at Hildebrandt’s home, they told her they could enter without any search warrant due to exigent circumstances, based on a tip from the first child that there might be other children in the house.
Inside the house, they found another baby hiding in one of the closets, hesitant to return. Authorities advised ABC They initially thought the child – who had a haircut – was a little boy, before discovering he was the first victim’s sister.
“You can be protected. We will not harm her and we will not do anything to harm her,” the authorities say, before she finally gets up.
Both Franke and Hildebrandt were arrested, with Ruby literally giving authorities the silent treatment throughout the entire process. Her lack of communication continued when it was time for her to also be questioned by the police.
When asked where she lived or how many children she had, she responded only with a blank stare. She refused to corroborate any details about her husband or children, before one of the officers told her: “I can wait all day, it’s up to you if you want to talk to us about what’s going on. Would you feel more comfortable talking to one of us?
“I’ll wait until I have a lawyer,” she replied. After a few more attempts to get her to talk, she reiterated that she would be waiting for legal advice.
Jodi, for her part, was a little more verbal – first admitting that she was nervous because she “watched a lot of detective movies.”
“So I trusted my lawyer, he said, ‘Don’t say anything.’ I mentioned that I have nothing to cover. He said, ‘I know this, let me be there whenever you speak,’” she continued, after being asked to share a little about herself. “You seem like good people. If you knew all the items, I think you would have a lot of empathy with what is happening.”
She expressed concern that authorities would “reverse my words,” before also reiterating her lawyer’s advice and explaining how much she trusted him. It “feels” bad that I’m not answering something, but it’s not because I’m trying to be problematic,” Hildebrandt said.
“I don’t know what will happen with what I say. I’m a psychologist, I see people changing problems regularly, so I understand. I wish people wouldn’t try this, they do,” she added, before closing other questions.
Also interviewed that day was Ruby’s ex-husband, Kevin, who had left the family’s original home in Springville to go to Ivins because someone told him he needed to pick up his children from the police station. He did not reveal who warned him, but otherwise fully appeared in the hours of darkness about what happened.
“I’ve never seen them for more than 12 months. I am separated from my wife and my family,” he said, adding that he has not seen his children since July 2022. “I don’t know anything that is happening,” he added.
During the interview, he said that his wife did not give him any details about their children at that time, before saying that she trusted Ruby with their children and also revered Hildebrandt. He was then asked why the couple split and whether it had anything to do with previous abuse allegations and the reporting on his YouTube channel, 8Passengers.
“The reasons are due to the way I dealt with my wife and some of my own addictions, which I was dealing with and seeking help with pornography. I’ve made great progress,” he told authorities. “Jodi and Ruby have a close relationship and Jodi saw the need for me to seek help, although I agree. Home has been exactly what I need to face my own addictions and receive the help and support I need. The house has been really, really great for me.”

Police then told him about what happened, including how his son was found knocking on doors asking for food and water, appearing “severely emaciated.”
“I’m sorry, what?!” he exclaimed, before authorities warned him about the duct tape and cable burns and asked if he tolerated this type of punishment.
“Based mainly on your description, no. I don’t know the fine print and I don’t know what’s going on. That sounds horrible,” Kevin responded, before crying into his hands after being left alone for a few moments in the interview room.
“What is happening to my wife? I like my spouse. I like my wife and I trust my wife. It looks like he was hit by a truck, which is what you shared with me now,” he later told the officers, becoming very emotional.
“I have a picture of my family on the wall and I see it every day. I work every day to be able to return to my home. All the things you are sharing with me just seem like a made up story… I don’t know what you are talking about,” he continued. “This looks like a horror movie. I just want my children, I just want my family. I don’t know why the belongings you described occurred. It’s almost as if I need to say: I’m sorry, you could be with someone else.
The video ends with him saying “That just feels like a punch. I really feel responsible. I wish I was a better husband.

Ruby was sentenced to up to 60 years in prison for aggravated child abuse last month after she and Hildebrandt pleaded responsible to four counts of child abuse in December.
“I feel humbled and ready to serve prison time for as long as I want,” the former 8 Passengers influencer told the judge. “I am dedicated to unlearning my poisonous habits.”
She also expressed remorse for “twisting God’s words and distorting His doctrine.” Franke got the maximum sentence under Utah state guidelines.
Hildebrandt received the same sentence because the judge reprimanded her for terrorizing children.
“I really loved these kids,” Hildebrandt told the judge. “One of the reasons I didn’t go to trial is I didn’t want them to relive this.”
