Tamarind Cashew Sauce (Cheesecake Factory Copycat)
Have you ever craved that delicious dip served with Cheesecake Factory lettuce wraps or avocado egg rolls? You can enjoy the same sweet and spicy deliciousness at home with this simple recipe! But be warned: This tamarind cashew sauce is super addictive and you’ll want to make it all the time. Guilty!
This homemade version of Cheesecake Factory’s Tamarind Cashew Sauce is bursting with warm, tangy flavor. Cashew nuts and fresh coriander mix with bittersweet notes of tamarind paste and honey. This sauce is so unique that it was difficult to get the flavor right, but I think I cracked the code! Try it for yourself, I know you will love it as much as we do!
Ingredient list
- Apple cider vinegar and tamarind paste: These two ingredients add a delicious tart punch that cuts through the sweetness and balances the richness of the cashews.
- Honey: It adds a sticky sweetness that makes the sauce so good!
- Oil: Helps create a smooth texture.
- Coriander: Therefore, the sauce has a hint of herbal flavor. If you’re not a big fan of cilantro, don’t worry! The flavor is not overpowering in this recipe.
- Cashew nut: Add nutty flavor and a creamy texture once mixed with the other ingredients.
- Garlic and Ginger: A dynamic duo that brings heat and depth of flavor to the mix. I recommend using fresh rather than powdered if possible.
- Cumin, black pepper and turmeric: These aromatic spices take flavor to the next level.
How to make tamarind and cashew sauce
- Ingredients to heat: In a small bowl whisk together the apple cider vinegar, tamarind paste, honey and olive oil. Heat in the microwave until smooth, about 20 seconds.
- Add to Blender: Pour the vinegar, tamarind and honey mixture into a food processor or blender along with the coriander, cashews, garlic, ginger, cumin, pepper, turmeric and olive oil.
- Mixture: Pulse until everything is mixed into a smooth, even consistency.
