Kate MiddletonThe cancer announcement came too little, too late and was completely mismanaged by Kensington Palace – so says a reporter who knows everything about social media.
We spoke with Taylor Lorenz Friday on “TMZ Live,” where she analyzed the effect Kate’s Health News could have online – where all the conspiracy theories and speculation about his condition and whereabouts have been running rampant for weeks.

Taylor says a reckoning of sorts is happening on social media after Kate came out and told the world about her cancer – with many people deleting her tweets and posts that mocked the whole saga. Her departure certainly quelled speculation.

That said, TL tells us that there are still people who will have questions about all of this – even after the health update – and the reason, she says, is because the Palace botched the release of this news. …something she says they should have started.
The fact that Kensington Palace appears to have tried to keep this secret and secret for so long – with mistakes along the way, including mother’s day photo — just gave skeptics more reason to lean on the theories and gossip about Kate.

Taylor’s point of view on this is that the drip-feed method of information actually seems to have backfired on the Palace – and she suggests that they should have done what Buckingham Palace did with King Charles‘cancer news… i.e. just get it out early.
From her position, Taylor feels that the Palace failed Kate in a public relations sense… and that this whole mess could have been avoided if they were just open and honest with the public.
With that said, Taylor tells us she hopes Kate and her family can finally get some peace and quiet… especially now that everyone knows what’s going on. Amen to that, sister!
