It’s not every day that Andy Cohen snubs someone as important as Prince William. But William isn’t the most popular — or likable — royal right now.
On Friday, March 22nd, Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis after months of frightening silence and somewhat justified conspiracy theories about his disappearance.
The public did not believe the official story about his recovery from surgery. This suspicion was right. Likewise, much of the public does not believe in the idea that Prince William was completely faithful.
Andy Cohen doesn’t seem to have believed these claims either. He put the Prince of Wales on high, with a bubbles comparison with King Charles.
Andy Cohen has some thoughts on Prince William
During the Friday, March 22 episode of his Dad’s diaries podcast, Andy Cohen headed the long-standing infidelity rumors about Prince William.
The obscene statements earned William nicknames such as the “Prince of Pegging” and simply “Peggy,” referring to an alleged sexual act he favored with Marchioness Rose Hanbury.
Years after the story broke, Hanbury denied the alleged affair. Critics of the secretive and bizarrely influential royal enterprise have debated how significant any official statements about this story could be.
Andy Cohen specifically investigated speculation that Kate’s absence from public life could have some connection to William’s alleged infidelity.
“Everything seems to come back to this lady Rose, with whom he had an affair – with whom he allegedly I had an affair with,” Cohen said, rephrasing it into a more legally sound phrase as he spoke. Intelligent!
Andy then pointed to the timeline of William and Kate’s romance before they got married.
Prince William wasn’t always in a rush to marry Kate Middleton
“Don’t forget he broke up with (Middleton) after they dated for years and sowed wild oats for a while and then got back together,” Andy recalled.
There is truth to this: Prince William and Princess Kate separated in 2004 and 2007, reconciling both times.
Some fan theories suggest that William decided to marry Kate and “lock it down,” so to speak, when he noticed his hairline was receding. This is, perhaps, a petty theory.
Andy Cohen doubled down on the obscurity with a reference to King Charles famously cheating on William’s mother, Princess Diana. The other woman in what relationship is now his wife, Queen Camilla.
The Bravo executive called William his “father’s son.” This phrase can, on rare occasions, be a compliment. Certainly not in this case.
Andy is not the first to suggest that William followed in his father’s footsteps with the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. Even though most of us try to avoid pronouncing that specific name (it’s pronounced “Chumlee,” what it is irritating) at all costs.
Andy Cohen’s mockery of Prince William came out before Kate Middleton shared her news
In a video that took many audiences by surprise, the Princess of Wales revealed on Friday, March 22, that she had cancer.
As she states in the video, January’s abdominal surgery and subsequent exams detected the presence of cancer.
So she, like her father-in-law, King Charles, has cancer and is undergoing treatments for it.
Of course, Kate’s revelation comes after months of speculation, worry and botched public relations opportunities.
It is clear that initially the royal firm intended to hide this information from the public. The family did this for months, hoping that a flagrant fake family portrait would silence the questions. Did not happen.
With this in mind, people are less willing to believe anything that comes from that family. It wasn’t long ago that (supposedly) Kate herself claimed to have caused the photoshop to fail. The real firm will say whatever it wants to the public and nothing more.
