Sinéad O’ConnorRoisin Waters’ daughter is keeping her mother’s memory alive.
On Wednesday, the 28-year-old honored her late mother with a moving rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U” during a tribute concert held in New York City for O’Connor and her fellow Irish singer. Shane MacGowan.
In a video posted on YouTube by a fan in attendance, Waters walks across the Carnegie Hall stage barefoot and wearing a tight dress as she sings her mother’s early 1990s hit. Since being posted on Wednesday night, the video has racked up 25,000 views and dozens of comments.
“Thank you dear Roisin. This was SO beautiful, tender and powerful. May all the angels embrace you and your brothers,” one commenter wrote.
“What a beautiful lady and what a beautiful voice like her mother,” shared another.
The crowd at the event seemingly agreed with online viewers’ sentiments as they cheered and cheered for Waters’ cover of her mother’s song while singing along.
O’Connor died in July at 56 years old.

In January, ET confirmed with the London Inner South Coroner’s Court that the singer died of natural causes.
MacGowan, who was also honored during Wednesday’s Carnegie Hall concert, was best known as the lead singer of The Pogues. He died in November of pneumonia at age 65.
The show also featured covers of O’Connor’s “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got” by Bettye LaVette, while the Pogues’ hit “The Body of an American” was sung by Cat Power. Other singers included the Resistance Revival Chorus, Hansard and Imelda May, Billy Bragg, Gordon Gano, Dropkick Murphys, Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello, Craig Finn of The Hold Steady and John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats.
