Kathy GriffinHer ex-husband has been located and the former couple is moving forward with the divorce process.
Randy Bick responded to Griffin’s divorce filing after it was revealed that the comedian hired a private detective to locate him. According to new court documents filed on March 21, Bick is requesting spousal support and legal fees to be covered by Griffin under the terms set forth in their prenuptial agreement.
The response came two days after Griffin filed paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday to inform the court that she had been unable to locate Bick, “despite her efforts to do so.” In those court documents, Griffin stated that Bick left the family’s former residence at her request and has not contacted her or told her where he resides or is staying.
Court documents stated that Griffin went so far as to retain the services of a private investigator to serve Bick, “but this was also unsuccessful.” Griffin stated that he would make further attempts to locate Bick and “take steps to enter his pattern”. A hearing has been scheduled for next week.
ET has reached out to attorneys for Griffin and Bick for comment.
The update arrives more than a year after Griffin asked for divorce of Bick, a marketing executive, less than a week before their fourth wedding anniversary. She filed for divorce in December 2023 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the dissolution of the marriage.
The separation date was listed as December 22, 2023, and she also requested that the court enforce the prenuptial agreement.
The pair, who previously dated between 2011 and 2018 before reconnecting in 2019, tied the knot on New Year’s Day 2020, in a ceremony officiated by Lily Tomlin.
Griffin was also married to actor Matt Moline from 2001 to 2006.
