Josh Peck is talking about all the allegations and horror stories chronicled in Nickelodeon’s documentary about child actors… and he says things need to change for the better.
The former Nick star broke his silence on Thursday about ‘Quiet on Set’ – this amid mounting pressure from fans, who were vocally calling on him to say something as he continued to post things on social media without addressing the issue.
Josh writes: “I finished the documentary Quiet on Set and it took me a few days to process it. I reached out to Drake privately, but I want to lend my support to the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon Adjusts to the World.”
He continues: “Children must be protected. Reliving this publicly is incredibly difficult, but I hope it can bring healing to the victims and their families, as well as necessary changes to our industry.”
Josh’s post is coming at just the right time… his name has been trending all week following the doc’s airing – with many people wondering if/when he would speak. Obviously, Josh didn’t appear on ‘QOS’, but he was one of Nick’s biggest stars at that time.
Of course, your connection with Drake Bell – with whom he starred in a big show on “Drake & Josh” – didn’t go unnoticed by anyone… especially after Drake revealed that he was abused as a teenager.
The only thing Josh doesn’t identify in his statement is whether he himself had ever experienced anything inappropriate — or whether he was aware of what was going on with Drake at the time — but based on his words, it seems safe to assume he was probably in the dark. about this.
