Aston Martin on Friday appointed Adrian Hallmark as its new CEO.
Hallmark is currently CEO of Bentley and will assume the new role at Aston Martin no later than October 1st. Bentley said in its own statement that it will name a successor to Hallmark in due course.
Current CEO of Aston Martin It’s Amedeo Felisa, a Ferrari veteran who previously held the role of CEO at Maranello. He was hired in 2022 to replace the former AMG CEO Tobias Moerswho took over as CEO of Aston Martin in 2020, during the height of the pandemic.
Moers was unable to reverse Aston Martin’s losses and several Aston Martin veterans departed during his tenure. Felisa, 78, was lured out of retirement by Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll to run the company while its new generation of sports cars were developed. Felisa also oversaw technology at Aston Martin connection with Lucid announced last year.
Adrian Hallmark
Like Felisa, Hallmark is an automotive industry veteran with experience on boards in the UK, US and Asia. From 1999 to 2005, she was head of sales at Bentley. He then joined JLR, where he headed Jaguar, before returning to Bentley in 2018 to serve as CEO.
Crucially for Aston Martin, which is still bleeding money, its expertise is in sales. He has also overseen the development to date of Bentley’s future electric portfolio, the first member of which is due at the end of 2026. Likewise, Aston Martin is planning to launch its first EVs, the first of which is also scheduled for 2026.
Felisa will remain in her role as CEO of Aston Martin until Hallmark takes the reins and will oversee the launch of the successor to DBS later this year, Aston Martin said. The new car, whose launch follows the recent launches of the new DB12 and Vantage, has been spotted testing and could end up reviving the Vanquish nameplate.
