Huge Karen was charged with driving under the influence and hit with several other traffic violations related to her car crash this week … TMZ has learned.
According to online court records, the ‘Real Housewives of the Potomac’ star is facing a DUI charge for Tuesday night’s crash — which indicates she must appear in court to answer for it. She is also facing an additional DWI charge here.
There are several other alleged offenses that she was also charged with — according to the docket — that cover everything from careless and reckless driving to driving over the speed limit and driving with a suspended registration. The 6 traffic violations she was cited for do not require a court appearance… and have fines ranging from $50 to $510.
We broke the story… Huger was driving his 2017 Maserati on Tuesday night in Potomac, Maryland, in a manner that police described as aggressive.
Police told us Karen reached an average and a crosswalk sign at an intersection before continuing and colliding with an off-road parking sign. The car itself was badly damaged, but Karen told us she was fine after the accident… which she attributed to driving in an over-emotional state.
Huger said she went to dinner with a friend, where she said the two talked about some pretty emotional topics – including KH’s late mother – saying it left her crying as she tried to drive home and she said she swerved to avoid a car coming directly for hers.
Huger noted that she received citations, one of which she says was unrelated to the incident… but made no mention of being intoxicated or arrested in her statement to us. The cops also didn’t tell us that she had been arrested… and there is no record of her being booked into jail.
Montgomery County police say the reason charges weren’t mentioned Wednesday is because all that was available at the time was a preliminary collision report — and that a police report would have more information. We haven’t gotten that police report yet… but clearly, the cops felt something criminal had happened here – evidenced in the court update.
We reached out to Huger for further comment… so far, no response.
