The drama continues for Mom June Shannon and her children as a daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson Have some questions about lack of money.
In this exclusive preview of the new episode of Mama June: family crisisAlana’s sister, Laurynis analyzing money in a special Coogan account – containing money Alana received when she was a child actress – which has matured now that she is 18.
“That’s it The masked singer and part of Dancing with the stars money,” June tells Lauryn, who discovers the account contains $33,000 – much less than Alana and Lauryn expected.
“There should be at least six figures in that account!” Alana says in a solo interview. “Something isn’t adding up. My money is somewhere. It needs to be found now, as quickly as possible. Because this isn’t going to work.”
After being asked why the bill is so low, June gets defensive and says it’s a result of taxes.
“I can’t help it if there’s no more money,” June argues. “Taxes were withdrawn automatically – 50%.”
“I’m not a tax professional, but I know very well that no state is taking 50% of taxes from each check,” argues Lauryn.
When pressed further with her apology, June says the money was spent on things for Alana.
“You’ve been taking care of yourself, paying your own bills, since you were 12,” says June. “And you’ve done a good job.”
“From my point of view, I didn’t spend any of that money”, counters Alana. “You spent that money on what you wanted to do with it because I had no say in where that money went.”
As June runs out of excuses, she changes tact and argues that Alana should be happy with the $33,000 she’s getting.
“That’s a lot more than most 18-year-olds start out in life,” declares June.
“Yes, but I’ve been on TV since I was 6,” Alana responds reasonably, “and now I have something to show?”
Alana and June appeared together during season 6 of The masked singer in 2019, where performed as The Beach Ball. Meanwhile, Alana competed in the special season of Dancing with the Stars: Juniorswhich aired in 2018.
