Fly the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade
Dana Carvey wants to apologize for an old ‘SNL’ skit he saw sharon stone taking her clothes off on set – but funny enough… Sharon says there’s no need to apologize because she’s not traveling.
The comedian and his podcast co-host, David Spadewere featuring the actress on their show ‘Fly On the Wall’ and were recapping when SS hosted ‘SNL’ in 1992…this right after “Basic Instinct” was released in theaters and took the country by storm.
In particular, they revisited this controversial play called “Airport Security Sketch” – where DC played an Indian security guard who ordered Sharon to take off one item of clothing at a time… because she kept ringing the security buzzer.
Dana regrets this… saying that although Sharon was fine with it back then, they would probably get “arrested” for that scene nowadays. Spade even chimed in, saying it was offensive.
But Sharon made it clear that an apology was not warranted… adding that there is a big difference between a misdemeanor and a felony – and that in 1992, they were all “committing misdemeanors” thinking it wasn’t a crime. Big Deal.
Sharon adds that she had other things to deal with at the time… and was totally okay with being the butt of the joke because she thought it was funny.

She also says that people’s attitudes towards this kind of thing these days are strange and precious… with people spending too much time alone and not knowing how to be funny or intimate with each other anymore. In other words, she thinks PC culture will be alive and well in 2024.
It’s an interesting conversation, for sure… basically, Sharon agrees with the old-time humor, although some today might be offended by it.
