Megan Fox is opening up about Kelly machine gunIt’s recent, drastic full torso tattoos. In a new interview on Call Her Dad with Alex Cooper podcast, the 37-year-old actress is asked about her reaction to her on-again, off-again love’s bold new body art.
“He has a really special story behind why he did this, which I’ll obviously leave to him to tell,” Fox said of MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker. “But he had a relationship with the tattoos he had and was very emotionally conflicted about whatever they represented – and I don’t really know – but he didn’t like revisiting the memories of some of the tattoos he had and he wanted me to get rid of them.”
As for the end result, Fox described the new tattoo as “very artistic.”
“That gives me, like, Rick Owens,” she said, referring to a minimalist designer. “It’s like an elevated version of all those tattoos that have been put together. I think it’s very elegant and ahead of its time. I think in 10 years it will be a trend.”
Fox doesn’t think, however, that the average person will be able to handle the level of pain required to perform work with such thick paint.
“I don’t know how many people can handle this kind of pain. People go to sleep and get tattoos, but he did it wide awake, without painkillers,” she shared. “I actually don’t know how he endured that level of pain.”
Noting that he attended one of the tattoo sessions, Fox called the process a “spiritual initiation” and added that he wanted to “respect” MGK’s space during this time.
As for their relationship status, Fox remained vague.
“I think what I learned in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she said. “I think at the moment I have no comment on the status of the relationship itself. What I can say is that he is what I call my ‘soulmate’ and there will always be a connection with him no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to it in some way. Besides, I’m not willing to explain.
Fox also opened up about her own cherry blossom tattoo sleeve, saying it all started when she first dyed her hair, calling that time a “metamorphosis.”
She noted that it all stemmed from purchasing temporary tattoos for herself and her three children on the Temu website.
“I was like, ‘Wow, I love it,’” she said of her fake sleeve, adding, “And I immediately made an appointment to get my arm done.”
MGK debuted his new ink online in February, writing on Instagram at the time, “For spiritual purposes only.”
