Former Nickelodeon producer Daniel Schneider is addressing allegations made in the recently released ‘Quiet On Set’ documentary. As The Shadow Room previously reported, former child actor Drake Bell revealed that he was sexually assaulted while working at Nickelodeon.

Dan Schneider admits he “owes some people” an “apology”
According to The Hollywood Reporterthe outlet received a 19 minute video by Schneider reacting to the documentary on Tuesday, March 19. Additionally, the clip shows Schneider being interviewed by former Nick actor Bobbie K. Bowman.
“Watching the last two nights has been very difficult – I have faced my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and which I regret. I definitely owe some people a strong apology,” Schneider stated before addressing working conditions at Nick.
Schneider admitted that there were “inappropriate jokes” he shared that made writers uncomfortable in the writers’ room. Additionally, Nick’s former producer admitted to being rude to his employees and acknowledged the “hurt” he left with some of them.
“When I watched the show, I could see the pain in some people’s eyes, and it made me feel terrible and regretful and regretful,” he said. “I wish I could go back, especially to the early years of my career, and bring the growth and experience that I have now and just do better work and never, ever feel like it’s okay to be a dick to someone, ever. “
From there, Schneider briefly addressed the jokes included in his Nickelodeon shows that are now considered inappropriate for children. About 14 minutes into the clip, Schneider claimed he didn’t hire Brian Peck — the Nickelodeon speech coach who served time in prison after Drake Bell accused him of sexually assaulting him at age 15, for The Shadow Room.
“When Drake and I talked and he told me what had happened, I was more devastated by this than anything that had ever happened in my career so far, and I told him, ‘I’m here to help you, what do you think? need,’” Schneider explained.
Additionally, Schneider claimed he even helped Bell’s mother write a speech to read in court during Peck’s trial.
“That was probably the darkest part of my career,” he explained. “And here’s the kicker that I really don’t understand. After (Peck) got out of prison and registered as a sex offender, he was hired for a Disney Channel show. I do not understand this.”
Ultimately, Schneider concluded the interview by explaining what he would do differently if he could go back in time. Nick’s former producer also had advice for other executives who work with child actors.
