Dr. Jenn Mann have advice for Elizabeth Hurley – keep your clothes close to your adult child… because that goes beyond what she considers a healthy parent-child dynamic.
The “Couples Therapy” doc told TMZ … although the actress’ 21-year-old son Damian is a consenting adult, the fact that he’s directing his mother’s sex scenes is a huge violation of parent-child boundaries – at least from her point of view, anyway.
With two bestselling books for parents – “SuperBaby: 12 Ways to Give Your Child a Headstart in the First 3 Years” and “The A to Z Guide to Raising Happy, Confident Children” – the renowned psychotherapist is speaking from experience when she advises against simulating sex in front of your child. In her eyes, it’s simply not the best way to operate.
Jenn acknowledges that this is a Hollywood thing – criticizing the industry for its lack of limits… noting that Damian directing his mother’s sex scene for his upcoming erotic thriller “Strictly Confidential” really blurs the lines… presumably between voyeurism and art.
She also tells us that she finds it completely bizarre that Hurley felt liberated by her son witnessing their intimacy on camera… adding that the only reason she would understand EH’s empowerment is if she was just furthering his directing career. Other than that… she doesn’t understand.
Jenn isn’t shy about pointing out that Liz and Damian’s relationship seems to cross boundaries that may cross into taboo territory, violate cultural norms… and she understands why others, like her, would have a negative reaction to the whole situation.
JM says he thinks Liz and Damian might be best suited for therapy – and lucky for them, she’s an expert in that field.
As we reported… EH told Access Hollywood that her son Damian made her feel comfortable during an intimate scene in which she wears very skimpy clothing while getting aroused by another woman.
While most others would recoil at the idea of seeing their parents in such a scene… Liz says she enjoyed it so much that she would be totally up for a little more mother-son collaboration in the future.
Jenn hopes not, though.
