Even Kim Kardashian wants to know where Kate Middleton is amid constant concern from royal fans.
Over the weekend, the suit star joked about the Princess of Wales’ whereabouts in an Instagram post showing off her latest pair.
“On my decision to meet Kate,” Kardashian, 43, captioned her carousel of stylish photos on Saturday.
While some found the caption hilarious, others argued that it was distasteful.
“Nothing like a celebrity who supposedly hates rumors, spreading rumors,” wrote one reviewer, while another noted, “It’s not like people outside your family hide (rightfully so) during pregnancy or other medical reasons… this caption doesn’t It is?
“Kate is an icon,” commented a third. “She doesn’t need to say everything about her life unlike you. Her silence demonstrated that she was more powerful than all the American stars combined. 🥱.”
Meanwhile, others praised Kardashian for the cheeky caption, given the national curiosity.
“OMG this caption is going to generate a lot of extra drama 😂,” wrote one user.
Royalty’s unmissable extra protection:
“Kimmy is… trolling Kate Middleton 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,” asked another.
Even some celebrities and public figures joined the chat, like designer Simone Harouche, who wrote: “OMG KIM!!!!! Bahahahahhahahahaha.”
The Princess of Wales, 42, has been the subject of intense media speculation since Kensington Palace announced earlier this year that she would be present to undergo “deliberate stomach surgery” in January. The royals have not revealed any additional details about the matter to the public at this time.
“The surgery was successful and she is expected to remain hospitalized for 10 to 14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” explained a brief statement shared on Instagram.
The statement also noted that the palace would not provide regular health bulletins, but would only share “vital” updates in the future.
Conspiracy theories quickly ran amok after Prince William, 41, abruptly withdrew from a funeral service honoring his best man, King Constantine of Greece, in late February for an undisclosed “private” cause.
The hypothesis came to a head just weeks later, when the palace distributed a botched photograph of Middleton surrounded by her three children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — in honor of Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom.
The photograph was immediately scrutinized for its clumsy Photoshop edits and was “killed” by major photography companies. The now-viral mix-up prompted Middleton to release a rare apology, in which the self-proclaimed “rookie photographer” explained that she had been experimenting with Photoshop.
Middleton is expected to return to royal duties next month.
