Citroën and BluSmart Mobility collaborate to boost electric mobility in India
Citroën announced a partnership with BluSmart Mobility, an eMobility service provider. The collaboration aims to reinforce BluSmart’s electric fleet with the addition of 4,000 Citroen eC3 units.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Citroën and BluSmart highlights a shared commitment to advancing electric mobility in India. The first phase of this collaboration saw 125 Citroen eC3 vehicles inaugurated at BluSmart’s electric vehicle charging superhub in Bengaluru.
The Citroen eC3 has an ARAI-claimed range of 320km on a full charge and 100% DC fast charging capability. The eC3 gets a 29.2 kWh battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor, producing 56 PS and 143 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 107 km/h.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director, Citroen India, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the attributes of the eC3 as a practical and environmentally conscious transportation solution. He emphasized the importance of initiatives such as BluSmart’s shared electric mobility service in promoting sustainable urban transport.
BluSmart co-founder and CEO Anmol Jaggi echoed Mishra’s sentiments, emphasizing the alignment of Citroen’s vision with BluSmart’s mission to achieve net-zero mobility. Jaggi emphasized the importance of building a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem in India, meeting the growing demand for electric transportation services while offering passengers a diverse range of advanced electric vehicles.
The partnership also introduces Assure by BluSmart, a financing opportunity aimed at institutional and retail investors to support the transition to electric mobility. Through Assure, investors can finance the purchase of EVs and rent them to BluSmart, contributing to the expansion of the electric fleet.
BluSmart’s commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated through its integrated energy, infrastructure and mobility business model. They have a significant fleet of electric vehicles and an extensive network of electric vehicle charging superhubs. They currently have a fleet of MG ZS EV and Tatá Tigor VE.
