Order yourself! The bear was renewed for a 4th season on FX, even though the third season has not yet aired.
On thursday, multiple outlets reported that the star-studded dark comedy Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri It is Ebon Moss-Bachrach will return for another season of fast-paced chaos, likely in 2025. ET reached out to FX for comment on the renewal but has not heard back.
The cast is currently in Chicago filming the third season, which ET first reported it was renewed in November. Since then, the cast and crew have had a stellar few months as they swept awards season and racked up an astonishing 10 Emmy Awards in its first season. Among the trophies included are wins in the categories Best Lead Actor (White), Best Supporting Actress (Edebiri) and Best Comedy Series.
News of the renewal comes after local outlets in Illinois began reporting that the show – created by Christopher Storer – is filming extra episodes. Chicago Reel recently shared that production members have stated that the additional episodes are part of Season 3, while others have stated that the episodes are for Season 4.
In February, ET shared that the highly anticipated third season will premieres on FX and Hulu in June after an initial delay in production due to the respective WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. At a Television Critics Association event, FX president John Landgraf shared the release window update and said the network has no plans to change the binge model they followed for the first two seasons.
“We couldn’t be prouder or more excited (about the show),” Landgraf said in announcing the return of the Emmy-winning series.
The FX dramedy tells the story of chef Carmy Berzatto (White), who returns home to save her family’s failing Chicago diner, The Original Beef, in the wake of her brother Michael’s (Jon Bernthal) suicide. To do this, he teams up – and often butts heads – with sous chef Sydney (Edebiri). In Season 2, Carmy and Sydney work together with the rest of the beloved kitchen team to develop a new upscale restaurant, The Bear.
The show will be Emmy-eligible for its second season this summer when nominations are announced. They’re almost guaranteed to secure at least one or two nominations for Guest Actor and Guest Actress in a Comedy Series after the special Christmas episode featured appearances from Bob Odenkirk, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, John Mulaney It is Gillian Jacobs.
