For CC movie idiots and 90s kids, one of last weekend’s biggest highlights Oscar was the presentation of the award for Best Visual Effects, which became a long joke about Batman featuring the presenters, Arnold Schwarzenegger It is Danny De Vitoand their shared on-screen enemy: Batman – played in the Tim Burton Batman films by Michael Keaton.
After joking about their shared on-screen history as Batman villains (DeVito as Penguin, Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze), they began insulting Keaton, sitting in the audience, as he joked along, mocking them and even giving them a “ come get a piece.” gesture.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel live! This week, Keaton explained how it all came together — and, yes, that it was a scarf he wore as Bruce Wayne, and yes, it was it was a deliberate costume choice by Keaton to get into character as the Caped Crusader. (If you saw Keaton at other times during the Oscars, he wasn’t wearing the scarf.)
“I thought, if I’m going to do this, I’m going to talk to Bruce Wayne a little bit,” Keaton joked.
As for which of these two villains he would actually be worried about in a fight, Keaton chose DeVito.
“He approaches you and has a height advantage because he is very (small). You don’t know where he is. He’s always sneaking around,” Keaton joked. “The other guy I would just arrest. He is very slow.”
