Vanessa Hudgens There’s more than just being a first-time mother on his mind, including not one, but two new films.
Talking to ET’s Denny Directo alongside her French girl co-stars Zach Braff and Evelyne Brochu, the 35-year-old actress, talked about her new film and her return as weapons expert Kelly in Will Smith It is Martinho Lourençoin Bad Boys 4.
“I mean, it’s like a classic, beloved story and it’s really cool to be able to go on this journey with them and spend so much time,” she said of the new edition of Bad Boys franchise. “We really lean into the fact that they’re a little bit older and things are changing and they’re not necessarily operating at the speed that they once knew.”
Hudgens made her franchise debut in 2020 Bad boys for life. She recently wrapped production on the upcoming film, which was filmed in Miami. In addition to Lawrence, Smith and the Musical school alum, the film also stars Hunger Games actor Alexander Ludwig and Fantastic 4It’s Ioan Gruffudd.
“It’s fun to be around and I think there’s a lot of laughs and (it’s) action-packed,” the actress said. “It’s going to be a great movie.”
As for her other new project, Hudgens said she had a lot of fun filming it French girl. This one, however, required her to use more than just her funny bone as she warmed up her vocal chords to sing nearly two decades since the Disney Channel movie that put her on the map was released.
“The whole time reading the script from the beginning, I was just falling apart. I think it was so hilarious. And this musical number was definitely one of those moments,” she said. “Myself, Nick (Wright) and James (Woods) – our directors – talked about it and discovered that this sweet spot was, you know, good and ambitious, but very strange. And it made me personally cringe when I watched it, but it was all in the name of comedy.”
Braff, 48, said that although the entire filming time with Hudgens and Brochu was wonderful, the day they filmed the musical number had to have been one of her favorites.
“We laughed a lot that day. Vanessa was so funny,” said the Rub said the alum.
French girl centers on Gordon Kinski (Braff), a New York high school teacher who follows his French-Canadian girlfriend (Brochu) to her hometown of Quebec, where she pursues her dream of becoming a chef under the tutelage of Ruby Collins (Hudgens). ).
