The Starz network has announced the development of a prequel to the beloved ‘Power’ series. It’s supposedly called ‘Origins’.
According to VIBEthe network issued a press release on March 13 confirming the production.

The prequel will explore the backstory of fictional best friends James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick and Thomas ‘Tommy’ Egan, played by actors Omari Hardwick It is José Sikora.
50 cents took to Instagram on March 13 to inform her fans about the show’s return. He wrote:
“You asked, I answered. Young Ghost and Tommy coming towards him. Power Origins now in development.”
The retired rapper made a second post later in the day about the prequel.
“You know the vibes, this is going to be FIRE. GLG… got the cheat code, play with me. We should be working together anyway,” 50 wrote.
Starz Network Exec Shares Excitement for ‘Power’ Prequel
Meanwhile, Starz’s president of programming Kathyrn Busby, shared his enthusiasm for the ‘Power’ prequel.
“As we approach Power’s 10-year anniversary, it’s incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe.”
She added:
“We can’t wait to see how ‘Origins’ will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing a new, immersive and expansive narrative to our audience.”
‘Origins’ will be produced by Lionsgate Television. Sascha Penn will serve as executive producer, in addition to showrunner Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.
Courtney A. Kempthe creator, and Mark Canton will also executive produce the show, for The Jasmine brand.
‘Power’ fans were devastated after its final season ended with the death of Omari Hardwick’s character Ghost. The popular series concluded in 2020 after five seasons. The show centers around James St. Patrick, a New York drug dealer turned successful businessman who struggles to manage his personal life, legitimate career, and criminal activities.
Although the show has ended, there have been many spinoffs within the ‘Power’ universe. ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ starred Michael Rainey Jr., who played Ghost’s rebellious son Tariq.
‘Book of Power III: Elevating Kanan’ centered on 50 Cent’s character from ‘Power’ as a young man. Mekai Curtis leads the show as Kanan Stark.
Additionally, ‘Power Book IV: Force’ focuses on the character Tommy Eagan. Joseph Sikora plays a determined drug dealer on a mission to conquer Chicago’s drug scene.
‘Origins’ will be the fourth spinoff of the original ‘Power’ series.
