Boeing video showing exactly who worked on the door of the 737 Max 9 that exited an Alaska Airways flight has been deleted, and the NTSB believes the company is trying to hide the information.
Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, Jennifer Homendy, wrote a letter Wednesday to the Senate Commerce Committee… saying they’re still in the dead of night about what Boeing officials are concerned about with the door restoration. They requested the checklist of names when the preliminary investigation report revealed the door had no locks during the Jan. 5 in-flight scare.
Homendy accused Boeing of obstructing his investigation… by telling senators Maria Cantwell It is Ted Cruz, “Still, we have no idea who did the work to open, reinstall and close the door of the crashed plane.” She added: “Boeing has informed us that it cannot find the data documenting this work.”
During his testimony before the SCC earlier this month, Homendy clarified that Boeing only provided a list of employees who report to the door team manager, but not exactly who worked on the door plug in question.

Homendy says the absence of these names has resulted in a frustrating snag in the NTSB’s investigation — and he clarifies that they are not seeking the names for punitive reasons and will protect the identities of the workers involved.
