Scheana Shay is the one who seems to be struggling the most, as she was closest to Sandoval before his affair with Rachel Leviss blew up their entire current group and friends in the process. In recent weeks, she has made it clear that she is Staff Ariana, but also wants to find a way forward with Sandoval because it wasn’t healthy for her to continue hating him. She also felt like no one cared about how the scandal affected heras she lost one of her close confidants.

Tuesday’s new time slot began with Scheana speaking to Lisa Vanderpump a little about his points, saying he felt Madix shut down any conversation about the high-end setting. “I feel like I’m not legitimate in my feelings,” she said, before revealing how hurt she was when she found out Madix got a spot as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

“This year I started taking dance classes. I was preparing myself in case I made it. It was like a punch in the gut,” she shared, as LVP said she knew Scheana wanted to be on the show “more than anything.”

Shay added in a confessional, “I’m really happy for her, but I can be happy for her and sad for myself at the same time.” She then joked, “Good for her, she’s come a long way to being my backup dancer.”

Lisa said that if they were true friends, Shay would be able to tell Madix how she felt, something Scheana hoped to do when they met next.

But before Scheana could talk to Ariana, Lala Kent did – and explained to her why Shay was in her feelings.

“I guess the whole question is, if I’m going somewhere where he is, will I be able to have fun and have fun with him on a very intimate level?” asked Lala, as Ariana mentioned that she wasn’t telling Scheana — or anyone — to “fight” Sandoval every time they see him.

Kent then shared how Shay was being attacked on social media for taking a photo with a fan that also included Sandoval. She asked Ariana why she didn’t come to Scheana’s protection, considering how much Shay was there during her post-Scandoval.

“I’m not going to submit and have my information republished as headlines and stuff,” Madix said, before Kent pressed again. “Even your friend? You couldn’t tell all these people who are your Stans, I really like Scheana, she’s a fantastic friend, stop it? asked Lala, saying “it might have been nice” for Ariana to stay up for her co-star.

“This woman was so upset about what these two people did to you and one of them later bought a restraining order because of it,” Lala continued. “However, I believe she wants some closure in all of this. She wants you to say, ‘I really like you…no matter what you need to do to heal, please know that you can do it.'”

Madix, however, did not want Sandoval to have “any access to my life from me or through mutual friends,” and said she “didn’t like his presence.” She was adamant that she would continue to “quietly remove myself from situations that make me uncomfortable and his presence makes me uncomfortable.”

When Lala said she wanted to stop “shut down like that,” Ariana said she “wasn’t the one who should go back to Sandoval’s nice practice.” She added that although she wanted Scheana to “be happy and do what works for her so she can be happy,” she still needed to take care of herself as well.

“I’m trying to be compassionate, but I also know that Scheana can be easily led,” she added in a confessional. “He knows Scheana is the best way to go to get people back into his corner and if he can get Scheana back, Lala, James, Ally, he can get me out of the friend group.”

The conversation ended there, without much of a decision – but soon after they met, Madix took to Instagram and defended Shay, so Lala’s words must have hit a nerve.

Scheana also wasn’t getting much sympathy from Katie Maloney, after Shay said she thought Sandoval was more unhappy about abandoning the friendship than he was about the end of his relationship with Ariana.

“He was so sad about her for so long,” Scheana said, as she told Katie, Lala and Kristina Kelly that she was only now — five months later — beginning to go through the “precise grieving process” of leaving her friend. “Ariana has already lamented the lack of that, making millions of dollars and living her best life. I’m not there,” she added.

After she said she missed being friends with the Tom he was “before,” Katie said she wasn’t “holding on to things from 12 freaking years ago” and wanted nothing to do with Sandoval in the future. “He was terrible to me, interfered in my marriage, made everyone think I was a monster,” she added, before calling him a “demon.”

“I wish Scheana would just wake up… Sandoval never cared about their friendship, cut ties, move on, be a good friend to Ariana,” Maloney also exclaimed in a confessional.

The episode ended with Ariana, Katie, Lala, Scheana, and Ally Lewber having a girl’s night out while the boys had dinner together. Madix seemed notably annoyed that James Kennedy went out with Sandoval to eat, as Tom was the one sleeping with his ex-fiancée behind everyone’s backs.

During the conversation, Kent said that “everyone is nervous about leaving (Madix) as a friend” instead of Sandoval – before saying that “treatment begins” as time goes on. While she acknowledged that Ariana will “always see” Tom in a different way than everyone else, she wanted it to be clear how she would feel if James — or anyone, really — “decided to go and kick it” along with her ex. her.

“I don’t joke about it,” she said.

Kent then immediately consulted Scheana and said, “I think it’s obvious now that if you decide to forgive him or whatever you feel you need to do, it will put your friendship in danger.”

“I didn’t say anything about forgiveness. I’m just not going to mess with people who go out to dinner with him on random Wednesday nights,” Ariana then clarified, while Scheana decided to talk to Madix about her situation with Sandoval until a later date.

“You’re getting really annoyed with James going out and having dinner,” Kent told Ariana, before explaining that she knows, more than anyone, how damaging it can be to hold resentment toward an ex. Lala also felt that her case was even worse, as she was stuck with Randall Emmett forever because of their son. In a confessional, she said that holding on to that hate “is like ingesting the poison and hoping that you kill the other person. I don’t need this for my friend.

The episode ended with Lala apologizing for making the scene about her.
