Janet Jacksonis backtracking on previous comments she made about Kamala Harris …admitting that the vice president is, in fact, black — and that her comments were “based on misinformation.”
Mo Elmasri — Janet Jackson’s longtime manager — has clarified Jackson’s claim that Harris’ father was actually a white man… making a statement to Buzzfeed that Janet repeated false allegations she heard somewhere.
Elmarsi adds that Janet deeply respects Harris’ accomplishments as a Black and Indian woman — making it clear that JJ recognizes that she is both — and saying that Janet understands the importance of accurate representation of facts in public discourse.
ICYMI… during an interview with The Guardian published on Friday, Janet told the interviewer that she heard that Kamala wasn’t actually black – insisting that “she was told that they found her out father was white.”
While Harris’ mother is Indian, her father is a prominent Jamaican-American economist. Donald Harris …hence the reason she identifies as black.

Of course, the rumors and comments about his run really began in late July, when his presidential opponent, Donald Trumpclaimed she became black for political gain… sparking a national debate about race.
Other celebrities — like Lil Bomb — to have repeated the statement like a parrot in the weeks since Trump made the original allegations.
Anyway… Janet is confessing, admitting that maybe she didn’t have all the facts.
