Celebrity Fitness Trainer Gunnar Peterson took to Instagram on Wednesday to share some heartwarming news about her 4-year-old daughter, Monroe.
Peterson shared a series of photos showing his daughter resting in a hospital bed and revealed that she is fighting for her life after being diagnosed with leukemia.
“This is going to be longer and cathartically different than my usual fare. Forewarned is forewarned. Life-changing. Our perfect 4-year-old daughter, Monroe Vivian Peterson (MVP, see?!) has had a persistent, intermittent cough, fever and a pale strange for a few days last week. Typical kid thing,” Peterson captioned the post. “Then my wife noticed bruising on her legs, which was strange since she wasn’t very active because of the other symptoms, and she took her at the hospital.”
“Fast forward 4 days: White blood cell count knocked out. Platelets in the bathroom. Hemoglobin number lower than in the final of a football game. Hematocrit in the front row of the fight bus. Needs immediate transfusion(s) . Has to have bone marrow biopsy. Flow cytometry. Lumbar puncture. Chemotherapy. And finally, Make-A-Wish candidate. She has AML leukemia,” Peterson wrote. “How the hell! are we here?!?!”
“More to come as we navigate the nightmare… Our Warrior Princess will end this! She said so herself!” He continued. “Please keep our daughter and our family – immediate and extended – in your hearts, thoughts and prayers. As we all know; ‘you never know what someone is going through.”
“Back to lightness and fitness, more on that as it unfolds,” he concluded. “In the storm.”
The photo slideshow included a photo of Monroe watching a tablet from her hospital bed, as well as a photo of her and her mother, Jess, kissing.
The final photo in the series showed Monroe lying in her hospital bed with her 7-year-old brother and her father, who was hugging a stuffed unicorn.
The post was met with an overwhelming wave of love and support from many of the celebrities Peterson has worked with and befriended over the years, including Khloe Kardashian, who commented, “Oh my heart!! I feel so sorry for you and your family!! If there’s one thing I can say for sure, she’s a warrior just like her mommy and daddy!! G I’m here if you need anything! I love you and your family and I’m praying for you all!”
“We are always here, brother. Always,” commented Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson. “She will put an end to this, as she herself declared.”
