A violent brawl broke out in the stands during the USA vs Mexico football game on Sunday night – with fans throwing hay left and right… and the wild scene was all captured on video.
It happened at some unspecified time during the United States’ 2-0 victory in the CONCACAF Nations League final at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas… when Team Mexico fans clearly had enough of a jubilant U.S. fan.
Check out the footage… while the man dressed in pink, white and blue was cheering for his team – a Workforce Mexico fan tried to punch him in the face.
All hell then broke loose… when several people entered the fight to try and land some punches.
The battle lasted about 30 seconds… with at least four people throwing hands. During all the confusion, other people in the stadium threw their drinks at the fighters.
Fortunately, the crisis ended when the US supporter was pushed into a row of chairs.
It’s unclear whether anyone was arrested – but it wasn’t the first time during the night that fans behaved badly… as the match had to be stopped several times due to fans chanting homophobic language.
CONCACAF released a statement on Sunday night condemning the actions… saying: “It is very disappointing that this issue continues to be an issue in some matches.”
“We will continue to encourage fans to support their teams in a positive way and with respect for the opposition and all participants in the game.”
