Firefighters are fighting a tough battle on two fronts, Kallitechnoupoli and Grammatiko, as Minister for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias said in a briefing on the picture on the fire fronts.
As he mentioned, the situation in Dionysus, Varnava and Mikrochori is currently improving.
“Since yesterday, residents of northeastern Attica have been facing an extremely dangerous fire, which we are fighting in dramatic conditions and due to strong winds, prolonged drought and the difficult topography of the area,” he said.
According to Kikilia, 670 firefighters, 27 forest command groups, 183 vehicles and 32 aerial vehicles, specifically 17 aircraft and 15 helicopters, are working on the fire fronts.
