All beautiful things must come to an end. After a less impressive controversial graduation ceremony and two weeks of spectacular Games, the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics is set to begin at 9pm on Sunday at the Stade de France.
It is expected to last a while more than two hours.
The ceremony will include some traditional moments, such as the athletes’ parade but also the handover of the Olympic flag to the organizers of the next Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
OR HERfive-time Grammy winner is expected to sing the US national anthem live as part of the tradition.
From here, the speculation begins:
Although his presence has not been confirmed, Tom Cruise is widely rumored to be part of the final show. However, this information has angered a French umbrella group for cult victims.
It will generally be a more traditional setting – after using the River Seine for the opening ceremony – but don’t expect it to be boring.
It has the same artistic director – Thomas Zoli. Organizers said in a recent statement that it will feature “more than a hundred artists, acrobats, dancers and circus performers.”
There will be musical performances while “the participation of world-renowned singers will complete the show.
Part of the spectacle, however, will take place in the air, as the giant sets, costumes and spectacular lighting effects will take viewers on a journey through time, both past and future.” Jolie added: “There’s a lot of imagery, a lot of choreography, a lot of acrobatic performance with an operatic dimension to offer a wonderful visual refresh and to say goodbye to athletes from all over the world.”
